One of the most popular recipes on Wicked Spatula is my Paleo Edible Cookie Dough, so for the holiday season I thought I’d add another element to this bite-sized dessert. I am happy to share with you…COOKIE DOUGH TRUFFLES! Tis the season (to dip things in chocolate) right?

This really is my favorite time of year, and recipes like this are so fun, simple, and delicious. If you’ve tried my edible cookie dough before, all you have to do is whip up a batch and dunk them in chocolate.

Each year when I was little my favorite part of the holiday season was making tons and tons of Christmas candy and cookies. What child wouldn’t love that?!

All too often though holiday desserts are filled with junky ingredients, artificial flavors, preservatives, and let’s not forget, tons of sugar. Literally tons. These, like all the recipes on Wicked Spatula, have none of that without sacrificing flavor.

Your family will still love making these treats and eating them of course, but you’ll know that they’re made with healthier and more nutritious ingredients. Happy holidays friends!

Instructions

More TIPS about this paleo recipe in the post above!

  1. Make the cookie dough according to its instructions. Scoop the dough into balls using two spoons and place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Freeze for 1-2 hours until solid.
  2. Melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler until smooth. Dip the frozen cookie dough truffles into the chocolate then place them back on the parchment. Freeze again for 30 minutes just to set the chocolate. At this point you can transfer them to a airtight container and store in the freezer.

Recipe Notes

Even though you're storing the truffles in the freezer they never get rock solid meaning you can eat them without thawing first. I find that the freezer keeps them at a better consistency than the refrigerator.
