Crunchy onion rings that have a bit of sweetness and heat without flour, grains, or refined oil!

1cupblanched almond flour
In a small bowl whisk the egg with 1 tablespoon of water.
In another shallow dish combine the almond flour with the cayenne, garlic salt, and cracked pepper.
Slice the onion into 1/2 inch rings and separate into individual rings.
Heat coconut oil over medium high heat in a medium saucepan (you want the oil about a 1/2 inch deep). You can test your oil by dropping a pinch of almond flour into the oil. If it immediately bubbles you're good to go.
Dip the rings into the egg letting the excess fall off before dredging in the almond flour.
Working in batches fry the rings for 1-3 minutes or until they are golden brown on both sides. You may need to flip halfway through if your oil doesn't quite cover the rings.
Drain on a paper towel and try not to eat them all before you're done!
