Dairy-Free Paleo Hot Chocolate Recipe With Coconut Milk

This rich, creamy paleo hot chocolate recipe needs just 4 base ingredients, plus optional superfood extras. Made with coconut milk, dairy-free hot chocolate will be your new favorite.

Basic Dairy-Free Paleo Hot Chocolate Ingredients

  • 1 13.5-oz can Full-fat coconut milk (see notes for subs)
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/4 cup Cacao powder
  • 1 tablespoon Coconut oil
  • 2-4 tablespoons Date paste (to taste *)

Optional Add-Ins

  • 1 pinch Himalayan salt
  • 1 pinch Cinnamon (+ more for dusting)
  • 2 teaspoons Maca (optional)
  • 1 scoop Marine collagen (optional)
US Customary - Metric
  1. Heat the coconut milk and water in a medium pot over high heat, until it simmers.

  2. Place remaining ingredients in a blender and pour in the hot milk. Blend until smooth.

  3. Serve with a dash of cacao powder or cinnamon on top.

Recipe Notes

Serving size: 1/2 entire recipe, about 10 ounces

*To make date paste, soak dates in boiling water for 10 minutes, drain, then blend until smooth. Store in a airtight glass jar in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
